The Zeilgalerie is a futuristic seven-storey shopping centre located in the heart of Frankfurt on Zeil, the main high-street.
The Zeilgalerie has trendy shops which by no accident attract the young and hip. You can buy a smartphone, get a haircut, even a tattoo.
Other shop types include fashion, boutiques, furniture and cosmetics.
There are also restaurants and delicatessens.
Entry to the popular rooftop is free. On the rooftop is a café, a terrace, and an observation deck with views of Frankfurt’s skyline and the region’s mountains.
As you enter it, you’ll notice that the Zeilgalerie’s design (though somewhat disconcerting as an art experiment or you’ve stepped onto a slowly sinking ship) is practical yet unusual: Escalators and a spiral walkway guide visitors between shops, and the floors are sloped so that a visitor can walk all the way to the top of the building, making it suitable for wheelchair and skateboard access.
