Messe Frankfurt is the world's largest trade fair organiser with its own exhibition grounds.
The Messe caters to both small and large exhibitions and trade fairs, including German, European and International Trade Fairs.
Most trade fairs are open to the public for some of the time, and if the theme interests you, it can be an experience just to visit.
Two of the biggest fairs are the Frankfurt Book Fair and the Frankfurt Motor Show.
The scale of the Messe is enormous. There are several multifunctional halls, and it even has its own train station (Festhalle Messe – U4).
During the larger fairs, shuttle buses ferry visitors between halls, and there are food and beverages (including fine German beers) are available.
If you’re staying in Frankfurt during a trade fair, there are numerous hotels in Frankfurt’s city and Westend area, but hotels in Bockenheim, Bornheim and Sachsenhausen are not too far away by public transport. As Frankfurt is a compact international city, most fit people can walk from the Messe / Trade Halls to most areas of Frankfurt within an hour.
