The Goethe Tower, known as ‘Goetheturm’, is a popular meeting place, and is found on the south side of Sachsenhausen in the City Forest / Stadtwald.
Children can play in the playground and families can enjoy barbeques. It’s a great place to start and end a walk into Frankfurt’s expansive city forest.
The Goetheturm itself is a forty-three metre high wooden tower dating from 1931. After a healthy climb upthe wooden stairs to the viewing platform, you can see Frankfurt; the impressive skyline, and in every direction, including over the tree tops of the City Forest / Stadtwald.
Next to the large children’s play area is a cafe.
Note: Entry is free, but the tower is closed in winter.
